A total of 196,000 skiers have enjoyed the resort of Val d’Aran, this winter meet their golden wedding, during the weeks of Christmas, New Year and Epiphany.
Baqueira Beret start the Christmas holidays with a major snowstorm that left up to 80 cm of snow at higher elevations. The snowfall was accompanied days of low temperatures allowed to enjoy a very good condition. This high quality snow has allowed many skiers discover new freeride area which gives access to the ski lift installed Saumet. From 20 to 31 December have gone to the station 108,378 skiers and 1 January until Epiphany enjoyed Baqueira Beret 87,693 users.
Note that this season has gone 14-15 of 131 km to 153 km above the winter slopes and trails with the current station has an extensive ski area of 2,166 Ha. Moreover, 35 lifts, the new lift Jesus Serra maximum exponent, give the station a capacity to transport 60,000 skiers / hour.
The clubs who train the Stadium Beret have taken full advantage of the new ski lift anchor that gives access to the area of training. With skiing competition focused on overcoming this chair Dera Reina recorded greater fluidity for recreational skiers.
As for the hotel occupancy segonsdades of Tourism Val d’Aran and the Guild House Aran Valley, 95% has been pointed hanging the poster of the full accommodation slopes. The skiers were able to experience the holiday spirit with the arrival of Santa Claus with sleigh dogs, the massive torchlight parade with 500 participants, fireworks New Year’s Eve concert of classical music and endearing arrival Kings of machine-stepped slopes to the base station in 1500. In addition,
different clubs in the Aran Valley have organized events like the Olympic skiing with by the CAEI involving Paul and Alex Puente de la Cuesta. Meanwhile, the CEVA celebrated its 50 years with an original Triathlon Skiing in which they competed in alpine crossing and closed funds and their celebrations with a spectacular torchlight parade Beret.
Baqueira Beret is scheduled for next weekend opening almost all slopes and ski lifts if, as forecasts suggest, good weather is fine.
